The authorities were not satisfied with simply declaring the Chairman of Helsinki Citzens’ Assembly-Vanadzor, Artur Sakunts, a ‘grant consumer.’

“This is not the first time that police officers have tried to silence me,” Artur Sakunts, Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor, stated to Tert.am.

“We are not intending to replace the advocacy institutes, simply, the precedential right has the potential to become a stimulus for practicing justice,” Artur Sakunts, Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor stated today while meeting with reporters.

By terminating the criminal case against Governor Surik Khachatryan, of Syunik Region, they are simply making fun of the public. This is the opinion of human rights activist Artur Sakunts.

The presentation and discussion of the judicial cases initiated by Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor in 2001-2011, will be held on December 14, 2011, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the joint meeting room of the Congress Hotel. 

The claim of Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor, Artur Sakunts, against the Chief of Police, Vladimir Gasparyan, was not taken into court proceedings.

On December 9, 2011, the Lori Region Court of Common Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge N. Avetisyan, rejected the claim by Vano Yeghiazaryan against Kamsar Tamaryan, for reimbursement of the damage caused to his honor, dignity and business reputation.

Civil Society Institute, Helsinki Committee Armenia and Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor submitted a new report to the RA Prosecutor General demanding to initiate a criminal case on behalf of the one-month illegal detention of Sargis Poghosyan at Nubarashen PI.

Upon our request, Artur Sakunts, Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor and a member of the Army in Reality Initiativereferred to the statement made at yesterday’s NA Session by the head of the RPA Youth Branch, MP Karen Avagyan. Karen Avagyan labeled Artur Sakunts a traitor and a grant consumer.

The court examination of the claim of Lernapat Mayor, Vano Yeghiazaryan against the chairman of Helsinki Citizens Assembly-Vanadzor, Artur Sakunts, is scheduled for December 9, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Lori Region Court of Common Jurisdiction (Judge B. Grigoryan, conference hall 2).

MP Karen Avagyan, the head of the RPA Youth Branchmade a speech at yesterday’s session of the Armenian Parliament. His speech was against Artur Sakunts, Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor, and the topic was the army. Sakunts deals with the issues of criminalities in the army.

The hearing of the appeal against the decision of the Court of Common Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., on December 8, 2011, at the RA Court of Appeals (Address: 23 Garegin Nzhdeh, Judge H. Ter-Adamyan).
