Vilnius (4 December 2011)—In order to address the inadequate response of states and international organizations to ongoing human rights violations in Europe and Eurasia, 35 leading civil society organizations today launched Civic Solidarity, a new international platform for cooperation.

Open Letter to the RA Minister of Defense

Human Rights Protection Soldiers’ Rights Armed Forces /2012-January-14/

On December 6, 2011, resident of Vanadzor, Lori Region, Gayane Hrayr Ghulinyan, applied to HCAV regarding the protection of the rights of her son, Davit Ayvazyan, a serviceman in the Askeran Army Unit. On December 23, 2011, our organization sent an E/2011 – 23.12/39 notice to the RA Ministry of Defense and as of this date has not received a response.

On January 14, 2012, between 12:55p.m. – 13:10 p.m. and at 13:44 p.m. ,HCA Vanadzor tried to contact the RA Minister of Defense through its 24/7 hotline at 1 88, regarding the issue of the citizen applying to the organization; however, the call was not answered.

Considering the urgency of the issue, HCA Vanadzor publishes it, in hopes that this way the information will reach the RA Minister of Defense.
