A Man slashed his Veins in the Prosecutor’s Office

Human Rights Protection     Press releases     /2011-December-15/

Yesterday, the human rights activist and Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor, Artur Sakunts, informed Zhoghovurd that HCAV received an alert that a citizen was invited to the Lori Region Prosecutor’s Office where he harmed himself.

The human rights activist informed us that the injured citizen, A. Matinyan, received first aid, after which he was taken to the hospital. Artur Matinyan is a veteran of the Karabakh War and lives at 129 Yerevanyan St. The daily was also informed that 50-year-old Artur Matinyan was divorced with two children.

His daughter is married and he lives with his mother. Artur Sakunts said that they were not able to find out what had actually happened. They had simply recorded the fact that a citizen appeared in the hospital after being at the prosecutor’s office. “After receiving the alert, we went to the apartment, but he was not there. Currently, we are doing our best to find out where Artur Matinyan is and how he appeared at the prosecutor’s office: whether he was invited there, brought in by force, or for any other reason.”

We do not know what Matinyan used to cause harm to himself. The human rights activist knew that Artur Matinyan had slashed his veins at the prosecutor’s office. “But it is not confirmed. We are unable to find out the reason for all this.”
