The Address of the Chief of Police is a Personal Secret. Sakunts has re-applied to the Court

The claim of Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor, Artur Sakunts, against the Chief of Police, Vladimir Gasparyan, was not taken into court proceedings.

Sakunts appealed to the court against Vladimir Gasparyan, the RA Deputy Minister of Defense who, according the human rights activist, libeled HCA Vanadzor.

The court did not take the case into proceedings, justifying that V. Gasparyan’s address, mentioned in the claim, was incorrect.

“We copied Vova Gasparyan’s personal information from the official website of the Ministry of Defense; his first and last name, father’s name, and date of birth, then we compared that information to the “Voting Lists” sectionon the official website of the Central Electoral Committee,” mentioned Artur Sakunts in a telephone conversation withHenaran.am. “We also applied to the passport and visa department and requested them to provide the home address of the Chief of Police. But they responded to our official inquiry that “it was a personal secret and they were unable to provide it.”

Nevertheless, the human rights activist applied to the Court of Common Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts and HCAV used the RA Police address. “I think now the court should be able to find Vova Gasparyan and the case will be taken into court proceedings,” said A. Sakunts.
