Four servicemen arrested regarding the military death of Gevorg Kotsinyan's

On Thursday, four servicemen were arrested regarding Gevorg Kotsinyan's military death case in one of the military units of Nagorno Karabakh. As it was stated to the "Azatutyun" radio station by the RA Investigative Service of Ministry of Defense, the arrested privates, Taron Suvaryan and Vahe Aghajanyan, are suspects of a crime in accordance with the second point of the second part of Article 359 of the Criminal Code, “breach of relations, prescribed by field manuals, between servicemen non-subordinate to each other, expressed in humiliation of the person’s honor and self-esteem, persecution or violence, which was done by a group of persons”, as well as with the 6th, 9th, 14th of the second part of Article 112, “infliction of willful heavy damage to health by a group of persons with criminal motives, causing the death of the aggrieved by negligence”. Margar Davtyan, a junior sergeant, was arrested regarding the same case, as suspect pursuant to the second point of the second part of Article 359 of the Criminal Code, as well as to the second point of the second part of Article 38-359, supporting the mentioned crime, and 6th, 9th, 14th points of the second part of Article 112, along with the first part of Article 375, "abuse of the authority and its inactivity". Armen Rafayelyan, a senior lieutenant, was also arrested pursuant to the first part of Article 375. It was stated by the RA Investigative Service of Ministry of Defense that a forensic medical examination of the body along with supporting forensic psychiatric, forensic chemical, forensic medical examinations, and forensic examination of trace and soil evidence testing will be ordered. Several people have been interrogated as witnesses. 19-year-old Gevorg Kotsinyan died on February 6, 2011. Seyran Ohanyan, and the minister of the RA Ministry of Defense, stated on Wednesday that the serviceman was killed as a result of a brutal beating. www.azatutyun.am
