Working Meeting with Monitors

The third working meeting with the monitors of military budget took place in Transparency International Anti-corruption center on September 16, 2010, within the framework of the project “Civil Control over Armed Forces” which is implemented by HCA Vanadzor.


The project staff and the monitors participated in the meeting, who attended a training on military budget in March and then they conducted monitoring of military budget during the next months.

The meeting aimed to discuss the work done so far and the work to be done on the study of RA military budget during the coming five months. The participants presented and discussed their analyses on the number of staff of RA armed forces, their salaries, the defence procurement and the expenditures done within the framework of the defence budget. They also discussed  the Ministry of Defence Public Awareness Concept for the improvement of which recommendations will be made by the working group.

As a result of discussions, letters will be made to the Ministry of Defence to get more concrete information for the completion of the further analysis.
 
The project “Civil Control over Armed Forces” is implemented with the support of the Dutch organization ICCO.
