The Anti-corruption activity of HCA – Vanadzor

 In 2008-2010 Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly – Vanadzor implemented the project “Creation of Advocacy and Support Center in Vanadzor”, which was financed by Cassals and Associates Inc. implementing USAID “Mobilizing project Against Corruption.”During 2 years of the project implementation legal consultation was provided to citizens applied to the organization on 410 cases related to corruption and corruption risks. 25 applications (related to corruption and corruption risks) on the decisions and activities by different state bodies and officials were addressed to RA prosecutor’s office and 13 applications were sent to court. During May 2009 – May 2010 only 39 of the applications containing corruption and corruption risks presented by citizens were satisfied, 18 were rejected, and 26 citizens took back their complaints. At present 13 cases are under investigation. Though on August 1, 2010 the financial support to HCA Vanadzor by Casals and Associates Inc. was ceased, the organization will continue its work on advocacy and will defend citizens' rights.
