A working meeting with the monitors of military budget took place in Transparency International Anti-corruption center on June 3, 2010, within the framework of the project “Civil Control over Armed Forces” which is implemented by HCA Vanadzor.
The project staff and the monitors participated in the meeting, which aimed to discuss the work to be done on the study of RA military budget.
The monitors who represented Transparency International Anti-corruption center, Community Finance Officers Association, Collaboration for Democracy, Helsinki Association, Journalists for Human Rights and HCA Vanadzor NGOs, are already aware of the principles of military budget monitoring and its implementation tools.
At the meeting A. Sakunts, the coordinator of HCA Vanadzor, presented the monitors with the data on military budget collected from different internet sources, which were made in line with the budget model presented during the training on “Military Budget Monitoring.”
In order to do more effective work the monitors were split into working groups who will be carrying out monitoring of military budget during the coming months.
The project “Civil Control over Armed Forces” is implemented with the support of the Dutch organization ICCO.
