Campaign for the International Day of HIV/AIDS

Open Society Institute Assistance-Armenia initiated a campaign in a number of regions of Armenia from December 4 to 6 devoted to the International Day of HIV/AIDS.  

 

It is planned to organize round tables and TV programs in Gyumri and Vanadzor to present the problems of people who inject drugs, homosexuals, people delivering sexual services, as well as the problems of youth and women in the context of HIV/AIDS.  

 

The necessity for full execution of their rights and fundamental freedoms as a very important element of global fight against HIV/AIDS, as protection of public health is possible only through protecting all human rights.

  

A number of organizations dealing with advocacy of vulnerable groups, such as “HCA Vanadzor”, “Anti-drug Civil Union”, “Real World, Real People” and “Need for public information and knowledge” took part in the campaign.

  

The first round table will be held in “Asparez” journalists’ club in Gyumri on December 4, at 4 p. m. The same day, at 8 p. m. a TV program will be aired by “Tsayg” TV in Gyumri, where the representatives of the aforementioned organizations will take part.  

 

The second round table will be held in Vanadzor, on December 5, at 3 p. m. and the TV program will be held the same day at 7 p. m. by “Lori TV.”
