HCA Vanadzor against RA Ministry of Defence

On May 29 a preliminary court session took place in the Administrative Court in Yerevan. HCA Vanadzor made a claim on obliging the Ministry of Defence to give them information.

Artur Sakunts, the coordinator of HCA Vanadzor, Edmon Marukyan, the legal representative of the organization, member of RA Palace of Advocates, and the representative of the Ministry of Defence, Narine Karapetyan participated in the session.
  At the beginning of this year HCA Vanadzor made claim against RA Ministry of Defence. Before that, it applied to the Ministry for a few times to get some statistical DATA on 2008 spring call-up in Lori region that were necessary for the project “Formation of Civil Control over Military Call-up” implemented by the organization. During the mentioned project monitoring of recruitment was conducted in Vanadzor, Alaverdi, Spitak, Stepanavan and Tashir towns of Lori region and the results would be presented in a final report, for which some information was needed FROM the Ministry of Defence. But the latter refused to release any information bringing a reason that the requested information was confidential.
  The parties presented their arguments during the hearing and the next court session was appointed on June 26, 2009, at 16:00.
