The Prosecutor General visited the Anticorruption Center of Lori Region

On May 15, 2009 Aghvan Hovsepyan, RA Prosecutor General , and Eduardo Flores Trexo, the deputy head of ”Casals and Associates” Inc. visited the anticorruption center of Lori regio/ HCA Vanadzor.

The aim of the visit was to get familiar with the activity of the anticorruption center.
  Armen Ashrafyan, the head of the department of corruption and organized crimes of RA General Prosecutor’s office, Sona Truzyan, the press secretary of RA General Prosecutor’s office, Karen Shabazyan, the prosecutor of Lori Region, Aram Kocharyan, the governor of Lori region, S. Sargsyan, the coordinator of MAAC Inc. of “Casals and Associates “, Sona Ayvazyan, the director of the anticorruption center of Transparency International and the employees of the anticorruption center of Lori region participated in the meeting.
  During the meeting, Arthur Sakunts, the coordinator of HCA Vanadzor presented the activity of the organization, and talked about the information so far sent to the RA General Prosecutor’s office by the organization.
  Aghvan Hovsepyan thinks that the law enforcement bodies have the problem to achieve public trust and he hoped that AACs will be a bridge between the law enforcement bodies and the public.
  The anticorruption center works within the framework of the project “Creation and Functioning of Advocacy and Assistance Center in Yerevan, Gyumri and Vanadzor “ organized by Transparency International Anticorruption Center NGO which is supported by the “Casals and Associates” Inc. implementing the USAID project “Mobilizing Action against Corruption.”
