On August 28, a discussion on “The Impact of Development Programs on Stimulation of Civil Engagement and Strengthening of Social Accountability Mechanisms” took place in the office of HCA Vanadzor.

The discussion was held by “Center for Social Dialogue” from Yerevan. 15 heads and representatives of active NGOs from Vanadzor took part in it. Each of the organizations presented the role of its organization in community and in empowerment of civil society. NGOs in Vanadzor think that their role is quite big in the development of the community. There are many cases when the problems are solved due to the involvement of NGOs. As a result of the work done by HCA Vanadzor, the problems of the residents of temporary dwellings attracted attention. Due to dissemination of information about the families from temporary dwellings received support from the Netherlands. However, the activities of organizations are not systematized. Organizations that provide grants, should work in cooperation with one another. The organizations agreed on working jointly, with the same principle.
  After discussions with NGOs in different regions of Armenia a methodological manual on how to increase the role of NGOs in public processes will be published.
