Support for civil iniciatives Local Democracy

 On April 3, for the second time, the regional electoral commission #30 rejected the registration of the initiative group that intends to hold local referendum “On impeaching Samvel Darbinyan, the mayor of Vanadzor.”This time the members of the initiative group were present at the session of the regional electoral commission #30. We should remind that on March 28 the court of first instance of Lori region invalidated the decision of the Regional Electoral Commissions #30 on “Rejecting registration of the group initiating local referendum” that was made on 21.03.2007 and obliged them to make a new decision with participation of the members of the initiating group. The initiative group is going to apply to the court once more. This time they will demand obliging to register the initiative group.
