On January 22nd 2007, the registration of recruits born in 1991 started. It means that young people go to regional policlinics; they go through all rooms and give necessary tests. The documents are filled out, and then they are handed to doctors. Afterwards the doctors make conclusions. The papers of the sick youngsters are sent to hospitals.“It is essential to call youngsters under 18 for prescription, treatment, so that the Armenian child will be able to come to us already restored to health, - says Tigran Petrosyan, the head of the recruitment department of Armavir military commissariat. The results of medical examinations showed that during the last years the number of unhealthy recruits increased. The same can be said about youngsters born in 1991. Tigran Petrosyan explains it by the factor that these boys were born after the collapse of the Soviet Union. These are the children who grew up during the dark and hopeless years and it is clear that at that time social conditions were bad and children were not fed sufficiently. Yes, the majority is ill. I can bring the example when during the previous recruitment the plan was 567 persons, but more than 700 were sent for examination.” March 05, 2007 A1 Plus
