Peacebuilding Promotion for Peaceful Conflict Resolution

In autumn of 2006 the program “Mobile Academy of Peace Omnibus 1325” have been launched in three countries: Germany , Georgia and Russia . It is financed by “Zivik” project of the German Institute of International Relations “Auswaertiges Amt”, South Caucasus regional office of Heinrich Boll Foundation and Found “Apfelbaum”.
The project consists of three-year qualification courses, which will be held in Germany and Caucasus , and they are addressed to men and women who are actively engaged in peaceful regulation of conflicts and peacebuilding in Caucasus . The resolution 1325 of UN Security Council is the basis for these issues for the East-West Women's Network (OST-WEST EUROPAISCHEN FRAUENNETZWERK, OWEN e.V.) and, project partner organizations in Caucasus- South Caucasus regional office of Heinrich Boll Foundation and regional NGO “Don Women”.
With direct participation of the trainers of OWEN: Marina Grasse, Katrin Wolf, Andrea Hapke and Dana Jirouš, more than 60 men and women from North and South Caucasus and Germany at the same time attended the parallel running courses in Georgia (Bakuriani), Russia (Novocherkask and Sochi) and Germany (Berlin). There were distributed different working materials and also the manual “Teach and Guide – Culture and Conflict” (Katrin Wolf and Andrea Hapke) with the help of which the participants will disseminate their experience in their places and will use their knowledge in their activities of achieving peace in Caucasus and in the whole world.
